We stand before each other,
too close to be just friends,
too complicated to be lovers.
We’ve survived so much side by side.
You gave me peace I didn’t know I needed,
and pain I didn’t know I could endure.
Somewhere along the way, I became addicted to both
the calm of your presence and the chaos
of crossing lines we promised ourselves
we wouldn’t cross. Before I realized it,
I had known you in ways
time refuses to erase.
My mind knows better. It always has.
But my heart has never been good at listening.
I know you could ruin me, and still,
some part of me craves you anyway.
Because wanting you comes more naturally
than pretending I am only your friend.
But friends don’t feel like this.
Friends don’t lie awake
arguing with what their minds have already decided.
They don’t unravel at the slightest touch
and spend the next morning
pretending nothing happened.
You are not mine,
and my body keeps forgetting that.
I know what friendship looks like,
and whatever this is,
it has long crossed that line.
So I would rather end this “FRIENDSHIP”
than keep pretending I can stand beside you
and not want all of you for myself.

Relatable 🥲
I felt every word😔
